Bessie's Goodies Travellin' Show first opened in Columbus, Ohio
selling iced fresh fruits at the Bluegrass Festival in the summer
of '69. Bessie (a 1969 VW Van) travelled to the festivals at
Culpeper Virginia, and Beanblossom Indiana (Bill Monroe's
annual Bluegrass bash) and got out of the produce business at
the season's end after touring the frat and sorority lined
streets around Ohio State University. At the beginning of winter
Bessie escaped to the warmth of Venice Beach, California, and
broke into show business...
